Oversee and manage all aspects of the Planning Department in the absence of the Director

Collaborate with the Director and other city officials to develop and implement long-term planning strategies for the city

Lead and supervise a team of planners, providing guidance and support to ensure effective and efficient operations

Review and evaluate development proposals and plans to ensure compliance with city regulations and policies

Conduct research and analysis on current urban planning trends, issues, and best practices to inform decision-making

Facilitate public meetings and workshops to gather community input on planning projects and initiatives

Develop and maintain positive relationships with community stakeholders, including developers, businesses, and residents

Communicate and present planning recommendations and reports to city council, boards, and committees

Manage budgets, resources, and contracts related to planning projects and initiatives

Stay informed on local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to planning and ensure compliance

Promote a positive and inclusive work culture within the Planning Department and the overall city organization.
