Human Resources Manager - Kansas City, Missouri

A Human Resources Manager may be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Position Summary

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible to manage, coach, and evaluate the performance of multiple human resources team members. The ability to analyze, delegate and follow through on responsibilities within the department is an important and necessary skill set for the department Manager.

The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of human resources and the laws, regulations, and government reporting requirements associated with large employers. The Human Resources Manager will be required to analyze data and provide regular reporting to the Senior Human Resources Manager.

The Human Resources Manager will assist with developing and administering companywide human resources programs and policies including staffing, compensation, employee relations, benefits, labor relations, training, and health and safety.

This position will have a strong emphasis on employee relations, including overseeing and providing guidance on employee coaching, corrective action, unemployment, and escalated employee complaints.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The Human Resources Manager reports to the General Manager and directly oversees the roles of the Human Resources Assistant in the Kansas City, Missouri office.

Duties/Responsibilities

• (S)he will need to be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision.
• The successful applicant will need to be able to work well with others and coordinate activities with other departments and locations within the company.
• (S)he will be required to sit and stand for long periods of time. (S)he will be required to stoop, bend, and reach above the head and below the knees to file and retrieve data.
• (S)he must have the ability to travel for multiple days at a time and be able to work, as necessary, 15 percent or more as overtime hours.

Education and Experience

• Previous experience in HR or equivalent experience in management required.
• High School Diploma required.
• PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, preferred.
• College degree in a related field, preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

The Human Resources Manager is located at the Hiland Dairy Kansas City location. This position is salaried exempt.
