Position Overview

The Commercial Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in boosting Tire Discounters' market share in the commercial fleet sector. This position involves developing and executing innovative business strategies to secure new accounts and maintain existing relationships within an assigned operational region.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed monthly revenue and profit targets by identifying and targeting new business opportunities.
• Build and manage a pipeline of target accounts through effective prospecting and account management.
• Increase market share and service utilization among existing commercial fleet customers.
• Identify and pursue new commercial fleet opportunities to enhance market presence.
• Communicate Tire Discounters' value proposition effectively to potential customers by building strong relationships with decision-makers.
• Provide leadership and direction to the sales team to establish Tire Discounters as the premier truck tire network in the industry.
• Ensure total customer satisfaction by fostering strong relationships with clients.
• Develop tailored business solutions to win fleet positions using industry-leading tools.
• Create and maintain action plans and strategies to achieve market share, profit, and ROI objectives.
• Promote Tire Discounters programs and partnerships within targeted accounts.
• Collaborate with national commercial locations to discover and enhance new fleet opportunities.
• Manage customer accounts, providing resolution to issues and recommending process improvements.
• Create and present fleet performance dashboards to clients, offering actionable insights.
• Maintain and enhance process manuals; provide training to fleet personnel as needed.
• Act as a subject matter expert on the commercial portfolio.
• Engage with GAR principals and plant managers regularly.
• Represent Tire Discounters at trade shows and promotional events.
• Manage travel and administrative expenses effectively for impactful presentations and trainings.
• Provide regular updates on sales progress and team activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Familiarity with the automotive industry and retail tire business is preferred.
• Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.
• Outstanding organizational and planning skills.
• A commitment to process improvement and adherence to established procedures.

Experience & Education

• Bachelor's Degree in business, sales, marketing, or engineering is preferred.
• 5-7 years of management sales or engineering experience.
• Experience with large National and Regional companies.
• Track record of creating new business opportunities.
• Experience in the tire, retread, or transportation industry is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn additional technology used at Tire Discounters.

Physical Demands

• Working conditions are generally acceptable but may occasionally expose you to mechanical hazards and outdoor weather.
• Common physical activities include walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Vigilant attention to safety is necessary to avoid injuries.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required for significant travel to prospective customers and Tire Discounters locations.
