Heath Outdoor is a growing landscape construction and outdoor living company based in Indianapolis. Alongside our sister companies — Spotts Garden Service and Indy Insulation & Spray Company — we serve residential and commercial clients across central Indiana with a focus on craftsmanship, sustainability, and long-term relationships.

As our companies continue to grow, we are looking for a highly organized, bilingual HR & People Operations Coordinator to help support our employees, strengthen communication, and keep important day-to-day people and HR operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

About the Role

This role combines human resources support, employee communication, operational coordination, and administrative organization across all three companies.

The HR & People Operations Coordinator will help create a strong connection between employees and the company by supporting onboarding, recruiting coordination, benefits administration, payroll support, communication, and everyday employee needs. This person will play an important role in helping team members feel informed, supported, and connected throughout their employment experience.

You’ll work closely with office staff, field crews, managers, and leadership teams while helping maintain organized systems and dependable internal processes.

This position reports directly to the Controller and will also support select administrative, operational, and accounting-related functions as business needs evolve.

This is a hybrid remote position based in the Indianapolis area.

What You’ll Do

HR Administration, Onboarding & Employee Support

• Coordinate onboarding for new hires across all companies
• Prepare offer letters, onboarding documents, welcome communication, and employee files
• Help employees navigate onboarding paperwork, benefits enrollment, and general questions
• Maintain organized employee records and HR systems
• Support employee offboarding, exit coordination, and equipment tracking

Benefits & Payroll Support

• Assist employees with benefits enrollment and ongoing benefit questions
• Coordinate administration for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and supplemental insurance plans
• Review payroll-related information and assist with time-tracking audits prior to payroll processing
• Help maintain accurate payroll records and employee deductions
• Coordinate administrative items such as garnishments and employee documentation
• Utilize Gusto and external HR support resources to help manage payroll, benefits, and HR administration processes

Recruiting & Communication

• Post jobs on Indeed and other recruiting platforms
• Coordinate candidate communication and interview scheduling
• Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and day-to-day support
• Assist with internal announcements and company communication
• Translate communication and safety materials between English and Spanish

Operational & Administrative Support

• Help maintain organized systems, documentation, and internal processes
• Support leadership with administrative projects and reporting
• Assist with additional office, operational, or accounting support tasks as needed
• Participate in weekly leadership and company meetings

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in HR support, people operations, employee administration, office administration, payroll support, or a similar operational role
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) required
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through consistently
• Professional and approachable communication skills with both office staff and field employees
• Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive)
• Experience with Gusto or similar payroll/HR systems preferred
• Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, benefits, or employee administration preferred
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred, but not required

• $55,000–$68,000 annual salary based on experience
