Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Pediatric Orthopedic Consultant based in Al Asimah, Kuwait. The Consultant will provide specialized assessment, diagnosis, and management of musculoskeletal conditions in infants, children, and adolescents, including congenital, developmental, traumatic, and neuromuscular disorders.

Daily responsibilities include conducting outpatient clinics, managing inpatient cases, performing pediatric orthopedic surgeries, and participating in multidisciplinary case discussions. The role involves interpreting imaging studies, developing individualized treatment plans, counseling patients and families, and ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and safety protocols.

The Consultant will also contribute to teaching and mentoring junior medical staff, participate in clinical audits, and support quality improvement activities within the orthopedic department.

Qualifications

• Specialist medical qualification in Orthopedics with recognized fellowship or advanced training in Pediatric Orthopedics.
• Valid medical license and eligibility to practice as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon in Kuwait (or ability to obtain required registration).
• Demonstrated experience in pediatric orthopedic clinics and surgical management, including common and complex congenital and developmental conditions.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills, including interpretation of X-rays, CT, MRI, and other relevant imaging.
• Proficiency in operative techniques specific to pediatric orthopedics, with commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams, with sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to supervise, teach, and mentor residents and junior physicians; interest in contributing to continuing medical education.
• Experience in clinical audit, quality improvement, and adherence to national and international pediatric orthopedic guidelines.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage outpatient and inpatient workloads in a busy hospital setting.
• Research experience or interest in pediatric orthopedics and willingness to participate in departmental research activities is an asset.
