The Senior Clinical Pharmacy Advisor - Trend, is a dynamic role within Humana. We are seeking a positive and proactive individual to contribute to a high performing team that helps translate the clinical into financial. The goals is to help ensure Humana profitability while improving our member's health and costs. This role functions in a highly collaborative environment across multiple departments to drive results.
This individual will support ongoing trend efforts through the collection of market data and internal analysis, with a focus on generation of insights from the gathered information.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include the following
- Provide clinical and analytical support in order to drive success of trend, utilization management, and generic dispensing rate initiatives
- Generate insight through deep understanding of business strategy, operations, and reporting infrastructure.
- Contribute to creation of top-quality presentations for senior leadership on a variety of topics including trend, generic dispensing, and utilization management.
- Continuously monitoring relevant publicly available news/developments in the pharmaceutical sector that would contribute to Humana's drug trend and spend
- Monitors generic and biosimilar pipeline, including patent expirations and new to market agents
- Partners with pharmacists, business professionals and actuaries in a team environment
- Supports pharmacy trend management by conducting and analyzing drug spend, utilization and market share analyses, updating and distributing presentations/reports, drafting communications, etc.
- Supports clinical research integration activities with internal research department
- Lead multidisciplinary meetings, embracing the keys of Essential Facilitation, to drive to alignment and results.

- Three years clinical experience in managed care or pharmacy related field
- Experience in managing the strategic planning cycle for a large organization with cross-functional engagement and prioritization
- Experience executing complex strategic and operational initiatives
- Previous experience in trend analysis
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Based on the business need, may require an active Pharmacist license5 years of technical healthcare experience
