Nurse Practitioner

First Call Locums is looking for Nurse Practitioner clinicians to join a welcoming GP practice team in Liverpool.

You will work within a structured service where clinical protocols are clear, support is accessible, and patient flow is managed to maintain safe clinical standards. The practice encourages professional autonomy while ensuring you have the right governance and MDT input to deliver excellent care.

Up to 3 days a week available with flexible session options.

A Nurse Practitioner role focused on urgent appointments and minor illness.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat minor illness and acute presentations within scope
• Prescribe and manage medicines safely in line with local and national guidance
• Request and interpret investigations, ensuring appropriate follow-up
• Provide health advice, safety-netting and signposting to relevant services
• Maintain high-quality clinical records and contribute to service continuity

Requirements

• NMC registration and recognised Nurse Practitioner qualification or equivalent experience
• Independent Prescriber qualification preferred where required for the service
• Recent UK primary care experience in a similar autonomous role
• Strong clinical assessment skills and confidence with undifferentiated presentations
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with the wider team

Working Pattern

• Part-time availability up to 3 days a week with flexibility
• Regular sessions available, with the option for ad-hoc dates if preferred
• Start date and rota structure agreed to suit your availability
