Nurse Practitioner Primary Care and Out of Hours

Locums First is looking for a Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care & Out-of-Hours to work for a GP practice in Liverpool. This opportunity suits an experienced NP who enjoys a mix of routine primary care sessions and urgent on-the-day patient demand within a well-supported clinical environment.

You will support both scheduled and urgent clinics, deliver autonomous NP assessments and assist with continuity of care. The practice provides well-defined clinic structures, supportive senior clinicians and reliable workflow systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing routine and urgent Nurse Practitioner clinics
• Assessing, diagnosing and treating minor illness presentations
• Providing telephone triage and urgent care support
• Prescribing independently where qualified
• Interpreting investigations and managing follow-up actions
• Documenting consultations in line with clinical governance standards
• Supporting the wider primary care clinical team

Requirements

• Registered Nurse Practitioner with relevant clinical experience
• Independent Prescribing qualification desirable
• Background in primary care, urgent care or out-of-hours services
• Confident working autonomously in clinic
• Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne or equivalent systems
• Enhanced DBS

Working Pattern

• Regular or ad-hoc sessions available
• Morning, afternoon or evening clinics
• Long-term and short-term opportunities offered
