THE ROLE
We are looking for a Senior QA/QC Engineer to join our quality engineering team and play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of Thawani's fintech products across mobile, web, and API layers.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced quality engineer who is strong in both manual and automation testing, enjoys building and maintaining robust test frameworks, and thrives on solving complex quality challenges in a highly secure, regulated domain. You'll work closely with Product Owners, Developers, and DevOps to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Beyond executing tests, you'll define test strategies, review requirements and designs for testability, mentor junior QA engineers, and champion quality engineering standards across the team. You will report directly to the QA Team Lead and work alongside a small, highly collaborative engineering team focused on delivering secure, scalable fintech solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for mobile, web, and API testing.– Perform manual testing across functional, regression, integration, exploratory, usability, and edge-case scenarios.– Build and maintain automated test suites for mobile (iOS and Android), web, and RESTful/SOAP APIs.– Develop and maintain scalable, reusable automation frameworks using tools such as Appium, Selenium, Playwright or Cypress, and REST Assured or Postman.– Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and fast feedback.– Validate fintech business flows including digital wallets, QR payments, transfers, bill payments, card tokenization, and insurance services.– Analyze business requirements and UI/UX designs, and review them for testability, completeness, and edge cases.– Identify, document, track, and verify defects across development, testing, UAT, and production environments.– Contribute to security and performance testing to ensure applications meet fintech-grade standards.– Leverage AI-assisted testing tools to accelerate test case generation, test data creation, and defect analysis while maintaining high quality.– Mentor junior QA engineers, review test artifacts, and help maintain quality engineering standards across the team.– Participate in technical discussions, estimation, release readiness reviews, and continuous improvement of QA processes.– Participate in technical interviews and QA exercises during the hiring process.– Stay current with emerging testing tools, automation frameworks, AI-assisted testing practices, and industry best practices.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Testing & Quality
- Strong experience in both manual and automation testing across mobile, web, and API layers.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, the software testing lifecycle (STLC), and test design techniques.
- Experience testing native and cross-platform mobile applications on both iOS and Android.
- Experience testing web applications across browsers, resolutions, and devices.
- Strong experience in API testing, including functional, contract, and negative testing.
- Automation
- Hands-on experience with mobile automation tools such as Appium.
- Hands-on experience with web automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Experience automating API tests using tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or similar.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language used for test automation (e.g., Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#).
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Tools & Practices
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, Test
- Rail, Zephyr, or Xray.
- Strong understanding of Git workflows and collaborative development.
- Experience working with multiple application environments (Development, UAT, Production).
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools and how to apply them to improve QA productivity.
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.–
- 4+ years of QA/QC experience covering both manual and automation testing.
- Experience mentoring QA engineers and contributing to quality standards.
- Soft Skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
