Position Summary

We’re looking for an SEO Manager (SEO, GEO & AI Search) with a strong technical SEO foundation to join our growing North America team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, partnering with developers, and building scalable SEO solutions that drive measurable business results. While technical SEO will be the primary focus, the ideal candidate is also well-rounded across content strategy, analytics, and emerging AI Search best practices.

You’ll work across a portfolio of enterprise clients, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve website performance, increase organic visibility, and help brands succeed in both traditional and AI-powered search experiences.

The ideal candidate has a solid SEO foundation, is familiar with emerging concepts such as Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and is excited to continue learning as AI transforms how people discover brands and information online.

Key Responsibilities

Technical SEO (Primary Focus)

• Lead technical SEO audits for enterprise websites and translate findings into prioritized action plans.
• Identify and resolve issues related to crawlability, indexation, rendering, site architecture, internal linking, structured data, Core Web Vitals, page speed, duplicate content, canonicals, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, redirects, and JavaScript SEO.
• Partner closely with developers, product managers, and UX teams to implement technical SEO recommendations.
• Support website launches, migrations, redesigns, CMS implementations, and new feature releases from an SEO perspective.
• Monitor technical website health and proactively identify opportunities to improve search performance.
• Stay current on evolving search engine guidelines and technical SEO best practices.

SEO Strategy & Content

• Develop SEO strategies that align with business goals and customer intent.
• Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and content gap analysis.
• Partner with content teams to optimize existing content and identify opportunities for new content creation.
• Apply entity-based SEO and topical authority principles where appropriate.

AI Search & Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

• Support initiatives focused on Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and AI Search.
• Stay informed on Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and other emerging AI search platforms.
• Participate in testing, experimentation, and optimization initiatives designed to improve visibility across AI-powered search experiences.
• Contribute ideas, share learnings, and help evolve Cosmo5’s SEO, GEO & AI Search practice.

Analytics & Reporting

• Analyze SEO performance using Google Search Console, GA4, and enterprise SEO platforms.
• Build actionable insights and recommendations from technical and performance data.
• Track KPIs and communicate progress to clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required

• 3-5 years of SEO experience with a strong emphasis on Technical SEO.
• Experience conducting technical SEO audits for medium to large websites.
• Strong understanding of crawlability, indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, JavaScript SEO fundamentals, structured data, canonicalization, internal linking, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, redirects, and technical website performance.
• Experience working directly with developers and translating technical requirements into actionable recommendations.
• Proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and one or more enterprise SEO platforms such as Semrush, Ahrefs, BrightEdge, Conductor, Botify, or similar.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience developing and implementing content optimization strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.

Preferred

• Experience with enterprise websites or ecommerce platforms.
• Familiarity with Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), AI Search, or optimization for AI-powered search experiences. Direct experience is a plus, but we’re equally interested in candidates who are curious about the evolving search landscape and eager to learn, experiment, and help shape the future of our SEO, GEO & AI Search practice.
• Experience with Looker Studio, SQL, Python, APIs, or SEO automation tools.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience working with enterprise CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Sitecore, Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), Shopify, WordPress, Contentful, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with browser developer tools, technical QA workflows, and debugging SEO issues.
• Experience working within Agile environments using project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana, or Trello.
• Basic understanding of APIs and how they support SEO initiatives.
• Experience using AI tools to improve research, analysis, workflow automation, or SEO execution.
• Experience supporting website migrations, redesigns, or large-scale technical implementations.
• Familiarity with Git or version control workflows is considered an asset.
