Work Model: (Hybrid) - First 3 months, 5 days onsite. Once trained, 3 days a week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SBLC/Guarantees Team – Analyst II to join a Global Trade Finance Operations team supporting Standby Letters of Credit (SBLC) and Bank Guarantees. This role is responsible for drafting, issuing, advising, amending, and processing SBLCs and Guarantees while ensuring compliance with AML requirements, international trade finance rules, and internal operational controls.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in Trade Finance Operations with strong knowledge of Standby Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees, AML compliance, and excellent communication skills. Bilingual (English/French) candidates are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, issue, advise, and amend various types of Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs) and Bank Guarantees.
• Review guarantee wording and provide recommendations to clients and relationship managers.
• Process amendments, correspondence, and other requests related to issued or advised guarantees.
• Release trade finance transactions accurately while meeting service level agreements (SLAs).
• Prioritize daily workflow and support operational activities within the team.
• Participate in monthly reporting and reconciliation activities.
• Ensure operational controls are followed to minimize risk.
• Identify operational risks and recommend process improvements.
• Perform AML due diligence on trade finance transactions.
• Provide technical guidance to internal partners and external clients.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and international trade finance standards.
• Support ad hoc operational requests as required.
• Participate in rotational holiday coverage supporting North American and international business operations.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Trade Finance Operations experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Standby Letters of Credit (SBLC)
• Bank Guarantees
• Good understanding of AML (Anti-Money Laundering) requirements within Trade Finance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and process management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Post-secondary education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual English/French (strongly preferred).
• Spanish language skills are considered an asset.
• Experience with TF360.
• Professional Trade Finance certifications:
• CSDG (Certified Specialist in Demand Guarantees) – Preferred
• CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialist) – Preferred
• Knowledge of:
• UCP 600
• ISP98
• URDG 758
• Strong client service and stakeholder management experience.
