THE ROLE

Robert Half is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Interim Director of Finance to provide leadership, stability, and strategic financial oversight during a transitional period.

Reporting to senior leadership, this hands-on role requires a seasoned finance professional who can quickly assess priorities, lead a small finance team, and ensure the continued effectiveness of the finance function within a multi-entity environment.

Key responsibilities include

• Overseeing accounting operations, including financial reporting, month-end and year-end close, payroll oversight, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Leading budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial modelling, and variance analysis.
• Managing treasury activities, banking relationships, liquidity planning, financing requests, and covenant reporting.
• Ensuring compliance with audit, tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements while coordinating external advisors.
• Supporting financial management across multiple entities, including intercompany transactions and reporting consistency.
• Providing leadership, coaching, and direction to the finance team while maintaining continuity of operations.
• Assessing finance processes, controls, reporting practices, and organizational structure to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Recommending efficiencies, process enhancements, and stronger controls to support future growth and scalability.
• Partnering with leadership to provide financial insights, strategic analysis, and recommendations for the future-state finance function.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• CPA designation required.
• 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• Experience in a Controller, Finance Manager, Senior Manager, Director of Finance, or similar leadership role.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Experience leading multi-entity accounting environments.
• Knowledge of treasury management, cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and covenant reporting.
• Experience overseeing audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting.
• Proven ability to evaluate finance functions, improve processes, and strengthen internal controls.
• Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing finance teams.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership.
• Experience supporting privately held, growth-oriented organizations is considered an asset.
