Material Coordinator

Office based O&G contract opportunity in Calgary Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Material Coordinator in the Oil & Gas Industry in Calgary, Alberta.

Reporting to the Manager of Material Coordination and Project Support, the successful candidate will work with Project Managers, Project Engineering, Project Controls, Supply Chain (SC) Contract Analysts, SC Buyers, SC Expediting & Logistics, and other key stakeholder positions to enable efficient and effective identification, requisitioning and coordination of materials required for Projects.

The core accountability of this role is to ensure that project materials for delivered on time and to the correct location to support Project timelines. Total rewards:$47.00 - $54.00 hourlyoffice based.

Responsibilities

• Incorporate material lead time estimates from SC and develop a schedule for placing material orders in time to meet the project schedule.
• Review Technical Drawings with a high level of attention to details.
• Review Bill of Material (BOM) with Project Engineer to identify materials to be supplied by the Company, its Fabricators, or its Construction Contractor.
• Typical milestones where this occurs include 30%, 60%, and 90% design, and a final review of IFCs to confirm all materials are captured in the Material Coordinators tracking sheet.
• Coordinate design deliverables from Project Engineering or the ESP to SC for the timely occurrence of Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and subsequent awards according to the Material Matrix schedule.
• Work with Materials Management and Warehouse team to identify available inventory and\or surplus materials.

• Create a request for a new Material Master if the existing SAP material catalogue does not provide appropriate alternatives.

Requirements

• 5 years related experience in a Project environment within the oil and gas, pipeline, or power industries
• Past material management (coordination, buying, logistics etc) experience
• General knowledge of material and equipment used in pipeline and facilities construction
• Proficient SAP user (requisitioning & receiving)
• Able to manage all the activities necessary to enable effective end-to-end coordination of materials in support.
