Senior Security Systems Architect

Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: 20 months with an optional 6-month extension

Security Clearance: Secret

Responsibilities

• Engineer, develop, and improve new and existing electronic protection/detection (EP/DD) systems in support of assigned projects.
• Develop implementation plans for newly developed and engineered EP/DD systems.
• Advise on equipment options that support the implementation of the designed solutions.
• Contribute to the development of in-service support plans for new and existing EP/DD systems.
• Support the development and improvement of technical standards for EP/DD systems.
• Develop and improve asset management and audit records management solutions for EP/DD systems.
• Support the integration of EP/DD systems into enterprise networks.
• Support quality assurance of implemented EP/DD systems.
• Monitor implemented EP/DD systems for issues and malfunctions and make the necessary engineering corrections.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of standard operating procedures for users and administrators of EP/DD systems.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of training material for EP/DD systems.
• Participate in EP/DD system design reviews to ensure proposed designs meet requirements and standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience working on large-scale infrastructure construction projects, specifically in roles associated with security systems such as physical access control, intrusion detection systems, and surveillance cameras.
• 10+ years of experience engineering, implementing, and providing in-service support for security systems including physical access control, intrusion detection systems, and surveillance cameras.
• 10+ years of experience engineering and supporting enterprise-level, multi-site, networked security systems.
• Experience supporting major capital projects valued over $25 million, including designing and integrating physical access control, intrusion detection, and surveillance solutions.
• Experience collaborating with security practitioners to design and implement security solutions.
• Genetec certification is considered an asset.
• Must hold a valid Secret security clearance.
• A relevant degree or diploma in computer science, electrical, or engineering.
