Essential Responsibilities

• Lead the full estimating process for complex, high-value civil and earthworks projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives
• Advise senior leadership on bid strategy, pricing, risk, and competitive positioning
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, consultants, and partners
• Oversee quantity take-offs, pricing strategies, and reviews of drawings and contract documents to identify risks and opportunities
• Manage subcontractor and supplier engagement, including bid solicitation, evaluation, negotiation, and selection
• Mentor and develop estimating team members while promoting a high-performance, collaborative culture
• Drive continuous improvement in estimating practices, tools, and processes while ensuring compliance with company standards

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Estimating, or a related field
• 7–10+ years of progressive estimating experience, primarily in heavy civil and earthworks projects
• Proven success leading estimates on complex, large-scale infrastructure projects
• Advanced knowledge of construction practices, methodologies, and civil/earthworks equipment
• Strong understanding of contract types (lump sum, unit rate, cost-plus) and associated risks
• Expertise in interpreting construction documents, identifying scope gaps, and assessing risk
• Experience developing project schedules and integrating them into cost planning
• Proficiency with estimating and project controls tools (e.g., InEight, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, MS Office), supported by strong leadership and communication skills
