Key Role Overview
This role provides marketing and business development support for the Malaysia practice, focused on attracting, retaining and engaging clients. The Senior Marketing & Business Development Executive will support pitches, client meetings, market research, events, social media and content development while partnering with senior stakeholders across the APAC region.
The position is based in Kuala Lumpur and offers exposure to a fast-growing regional practice and a global marketing and business development network.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify potential business opportunities with new and existing clients
- Prepare partners and other client-facing teams for pitch presentations and client meetings
- Support the pitch/RFI/RFP/RFQ process, including coordinating with teams across the firm and helping with drafting and follow-up
- Carry out market research and track industry, client and competitor news and information
- Work with the broader team on effective client focus and retention strategies for the Asia Pacific region
- Work with global communications colleagues to develop and implement effective social media strategy for the office and region
- Manage implementation and logistics for internal and external firm client events, working closely with events support teams
- Identify profile-raising opportunities, including coordination of directory and award submissions
- Execute business development plans to support organisational objectives for the Malaysia practice
- Assist in development, editing and posting of firm video clips, blogs and related content
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the region and the wider firm
- Work with colleagues across the region to identify and promote opportunities for collaboration and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field
- Minimum 3 years (typically 3–5 years) of experience in a professional business environment; experience in business development/client development preferred
- Knowledge and experience to develop and maintain client relationships in a fast-paced professional services environment in Malaysia (including East and West Malaysia)
- Proven track record of supporting and partnering with senior stakeholders
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills; ability to work to tight deadlines and multitask effectively
- Strong computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and Power. Point
- Knowledge of CRM software; previous Salesforce experience is advantageous
- Detail-oriented, organised, self-motivated and resourceful, with excellent grammatical and proofreading skills
- Willingness to travel periodically within the Asia Pacific region and work across multiple time zones
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in immigration, legal or professional services industries (advantageous)
- Previous Salesforce or other CRM platform experience
