Network Build Engineer (Subject Matter Expert)

Role Description

Seeking a Network Build Engineer to provide subject matter expertise in support of the Global WAN which spans all business units and regions and responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting global WAN infrastructure across multiple regions and business units.

This role focuses on creating low-level designs (LLD), deployment plans, and ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions across on-premise and cloud environments.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of validated experience in managing, provisioning, and implementing network and network security technologies in a large globally diverse environment
• Expert-level hands-on configuration of networking equipment, management tools and network analyzers
• Ability to write detailed methods of procedure and maintain documentation including the creation of Visio/Lucid Charts diagrams
• Cisco CCNP certification skillset level preferred
• Expert knowledge of Layer 3 technologies, including - IPv4, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, PIM, HSRP, DMVPN, NHRP, and GETVPN is required
• Expert knowledge of Layer 2 technologies, including - Spanning-Tree, VLANs, QinQ, Dot1q is required
• Operational experience with load-balancing technologies and platforms such as Citrix, F5, & etc
• Expert level of knowledge and experience in Checkpoint & Fortinet firewalls
• Operational experience with Proxy, WAF & IPS technologies
• Good knowledge of Cloud Networking technologies is strongly preferred
• Extensive experience working remotely in a self-managed environment
• Experience with an Agile Scrum framework with the ability to work on stories in sprints
• Network Automation experience with Python and/or Ansible strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement network solutions, including migration strategies and deployment plans for complex projects.
• Develop LLDs, bills of materials, business cases, and technical documentation.
• Perform hands-on configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of network systems.
• Support and maintain secure network infrastructure aligned with regulatory and security standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams for smooth deployment and transition to operations.
• Provide Tier 3 and post-deployment support, including after-hours when required.
• Design and manage networking in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Identify automation and process improvement opportunities.
• Communicate technical solutions effectively to stakeholders and leadership.
