Manager: Strategic Account Sales | Commercial

Job Context

DP World is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Strategic Account Development Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of strategically important customers within the Freight Forwarding business.

The successful incumbent will act as a trusted advisor to key accounts, driving revenue growth, profitability, customer retention, and long-term partnerships through the delivery of integrated logistics and supply chain solutions.

This role requires a consultative approach to account management, identifying customer challenges, supply chain inefficiencies, growth opportunities, and share-of-wallet gaps, while leveraging DP World's end-to-end capabilities across multiple business pillars.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing tailored logistics solutions, enhancing customer experience, and ensuring the successful implementation of commercial agreements and service commitments.

Key Performance Areas (KPA)

Strategic Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact and strategic partner for assigned key accounts.
• Build, manage, and strengthen long-term relationships with stakeholders at operational, tactical, and executive levels.
• Develop a thorough understanding of customer business models, supply chain requirements, trade lanes, and growth strategies.
• Position DP World as a value-adding logistics partner by aligning solutions to customer business objectives.
• Foster customer loyalty and retention through proactive engagement and exceptional service delivery.

Account Development & Solution Selling

• Identify opportunities to increase revenue, profitability, and market share within existing accounts.
• Analyse customer supply chains to identify inefficiencies, risks, compliance challenges, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop innovative and integrated logistics solutions that address customer needs and support business growth.
• Drive cross-selling and up-selling opportunities across DP World's service offerings and business pillars.
• Expand wallet share by introducing additional services and solutions aligned with customer requirements.

Commercial Performance

• Deliver against revenue, gross profit, and account growth targets.
• Develop and execute strategic account plans aligned with business objectives.
• Monitor customer performance, profitability, and contractual commitments.
• Lead customer business reviews and present value-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

Customer Experience & Service Excellence

• Ensure the successful implementation of customer contracts, SOPs, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver consistent, high-quality service and operational excellence.
• Proactively address service issues and drive timely resolution to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Monitor key performance indicators and customer service metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

• Ensure all customer activities comply with regulatory, contractual, and company requirements.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and operational risks that may impact customer accounts.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Management, Commerce, or a related field.
• Relevant postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.
• Professional certifications in Logistics, Supply Chain, Sales, or Key Account Management will be beneficial.

Skills and Experience Required

• Minimum 5-8 years' experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain, or International Trade.
• Proven experience managing strategic or key customer accounts within a B2B environment.
• Demonstrated success in business development, account growth, revenue generation, and solution selling.
• Strong understanding of multimodal transportation, international trade lanes, customs processes, and supply chain operations.
• Experience managing complex customer contracts and service-level agreements.
• Exposure to integrated logistics solutions and cross-functional stakeholder management.
• Strategic account management and relationship-building expertise.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and convert business opportunities.
• Consultative selling and solution development capabilities.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to engage confidently with senior executives and decision-makers.
