Role Description

Yellow Lemon Media is looking for a Junior Digital Marketing Strategist with a strong interest in paid media, campaign strategy, data and AI.

This is not primarily a graphic design, video editing or social media scheduling position.

The successful candidate will assist with planning, executing, monitoring and improving digital marketing campaigns for Yellow Lemon Media and its clients.

You should be able to understand a client’s business goals, identify the right audience and help develop structured campaigns that connect strategy, messaging, creative content, advertising platforms, landing pages, tracking and reporting.

This is an early-career position suited to a recent graduate or junior marketer with strong foundational knowledge and some practical experience through internships, freelance work, academic projects or personal campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with digital marketing strategies and campaign plans.
• Conduct audience, competitor, keyword and industry research.
• Help plan, set up and manage campaigns on Meta, Google and LinkedIn.
• Recommend campaign objectives, audiences, messaging and budgets.
• Monitor campaign performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Assist with pixels, tags, conversion events, UTM links and campaign tracking.
• Analyse metrics such as clicks, leads, conversions and cost per lead.
• Prepare clear reports with practical recommendations.
• Develop campaign concepts, hooks, messaging and advertising copy.
• Prepare briefs for designers, content creators and video editors.
• Review creative content from a marketing and conversion perspective.
• Use AI tools for research, planning, ideation, copy development and reporting.
• Work closely with the strategy, production, design and client service teams.

Minimum Requirements

• A completed degree or diploma in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business or a related field.
• A strong understanding of digital marketing strategy and customer journeys.
• Knowledge of Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads.
• Basic knowledge of LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
• An understanding of clicks, leads, conversions and campaign performance metrics.
• Basic knowledge of pixels, tags, GA4, Google Tag Manager or UTM tracking.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to write clear campaign and advertising copy.
• Confidence working with data, reports and spreadsheets.
• Comfortable using AI tools for practical marketing tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• The ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines.
• Must be able to work from our office in Highveld, Centurion.
• Must live within reasonable travelling distance or have reliable transport.

Preferred Experience

The following will be advantageous

• Internship, freelance or junior marketing experience.
• Practical experience with Meta Ads or Google Ads.
• Knowledge of GA4, Google Tag Manager, SEO or email marketing.
• Experience with landing pages and lead-generation campaigns.
• Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience in an agency, production company or creative environment.
• Relevant Google, Meta, LinkedIn, HubSpot or analytics certifications.

You do not need to be a professional graphic designer or video editor. However, you must have strong creative judgement and understand what makes an advertisement clear, relevant and effective.
