General Trade Channel & Township Associate

What This Position Is About – Purpose

The Channel Management Associate will play a key role in driving the growth and performance of JTI's Township and General Trade channels. The role is responsible for leading selected channel initiatives, owning performance tracking and trade execution routines, generating actionable channel insights, and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders to ensure delivery of channel objectives.

Working closely with the Channel Manager, the incumbent will contribute to channel strategy development, route-to-market optimization, trade activation planning, and business performance management while independently leading agreed channel projects and improvement initiatives.

What Will You Do - Responsibilities

• Channel Strategy Support the development and execution of Township and General Trade channel strategies, identify growth opportunities, and lead channel initiatives aligned with commercial and brand priorities.
• Trade Activation Coordinate and execute trade activation programs, partnering with Sales, Marketing, Trade Activation, regional teams, and agency partners to ensure high-quality execution, monitor performance, and proactively resolve risks and issues.
• Route-to-Market (RTM) Monitor and optimize RTM performance, service levels, distribution, and coverage, identifying opportunities to improve channel effectiveness, customer engagement, and operational efficiency.
• Insights & Analytics Analyze market, consumer, shopper, trade, and business data to generate actionable insights and recommendations that inform channel strategy and commercial decision-making.
• Project Management & Governance Lead channel projects from planning through implementation, managing timelines, governance, reporting, performance tracking, and risks to ensure successful delivery and execution.
• Stakeholder & Agency Management Build and manage strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and agencies to drive collaboration, accountability, and alignment on channel priorities.
• Continuous Improvement Champion improvements to processes, reporting, and ways of working to enhance channel performance and operational efficiency.
• People Leadership Lead, coach, motivate, and develop team members while fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture.

Whom Are We Looking For – Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Marketing, Sales, Commerce, Business Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in FMCG sales.
• Strong understanding of sales operations, trade execution, and commercial reporting within an FMCG environment.
• Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of SAP and other sales reporting systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and provide effective support to commercial teams.
