Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals in a mass production kitchen environment, ensuring that service runs smoothly and on time.
• Produce large volumes of food consistently in line with approved menus, recipes, and production standards.
• Assist with functions, events, and special catering requirements, including preparation, plating, service, and post-event breakdown.
• Maintain correct portion control, quality, and presentation to ensure that every meal meets required standards.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health, safety, and environmental requirements in line with company policies and site procedures.
• Support food preparation activities, stock control processes, and the correct storage of raw and cooked food items.
• Operate industrial kitchen equipment safely and correctly, reporting any faults or concerns promptly.
• Keep kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment clean and orderly, and support the team during peak service periods.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• A relevant culinary or catering qualification is required or strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in a cooking or catering environment, particularly where high-volume meal production is involved.
• Good knowledge of food preparation methods, kitchen workflow, and basic food service standards.
• Strong understanding of food hygiene, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy, speed, and quality.
• Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and client requirements with attention to detail.
• Good teamwork, reliability, and a professional attitude in a busy operational environment.
