The Role

The Brand Manager is the primary guardian and driver of our exclusive distribution brands. This role requires a strategic operator who can balance the strict brand equity guidelines of our international/external partners with the commercial realities of the local market. You are accountable for the long-term sustainability, profitability, and expansion of your brand portfolio.Core Accountability

Key Responsibilities

Brand Equity & Principal Management

• Principal Alignment: Serve as the primary local contact for external brand principals, ensuring strict compliance with global standards to protect brand equity.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the central anchor bridging sales, marketing, operations, and suppliers to execute a cohesive brand strategy.

Product Management & Lifecycle Execution

• Listing & Lifecycle Ownership: Take full responsibility for omni-channel listings (retail, e-commerce, marketplaces) and manage end-to-end product lifecycles—from onboarding and pricing to end-of-life strategies.
• Product Expertise: Serve as the brand and product expert, leveraging deep knowledge of product USPs and functionality to lead internal training and collaborate with customers on range reviews and roadmaps.

Key Retail Account Management & Sales Performance

• Commercial Execution: Own sales targets for assigned brands, partnering with Key Account Managers and retailers to secure premium shelf space and execute joint promotional calendars.
• Field Insights: Work closely with on-the-ground merchandising teams to identify channel growth opportunities, track stock shortages, and monitor competitor activity.

Brand Building & Marketing Execution

• Campaign Management: Own the marketing calendar from start to finish, defining clear priorities and briefs for internal or external teams to drive retail sell-through.
• Content & Community: Guide the creation of high-quality product copy, lifestyle visuals, and training assets while leveraging design enthusiasts and lifestyle influencers to build community loyalty.

Commercial, Forecasting & Inventory Management

• P&L Accountability: Maintain absolute ownership of the portfolio P&L, achieving revenue and gross profit targets within agreed marketing budgets.
• Inventory Management & Procurement: Build accurate demand and launch forecasts, tracking orders from purchase order to warehouse delivery to maximize stock availability while minimizing dead or aged inventory.

Experience & Technical Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years in Homeware Brand Distribution (SA Market) and brand marketing.
• Collaboration: Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and work effectively within internal teams.
• Retail Operations: Expertise in omni-channel product listings, pricing, and promotional strategies.
• Commercial Acumen: Strong "retail maths" skills; adept at negotiating trading terms and driving profitable deal structures.
• Procurement & Planning: Proven track record in demand forecasting and commercial performance management.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced G-Suite user; experienced with CRM systems and AI tools to accelerate workflows.
• Autonomy & Mindset: Highly self-managed, resilient, and adaptable; comfortable with candid feedback and maintaining energy under pressure.
