Accountant - Cape Town

Introduction

Our client, an established accounting and advisory firms across Cape Town, is looking for motivated and detail-oriented Accountants to join their growing team. These opportunities are ideal for candidates who have completed their SAIPA articles or are in the final stages of signing off their articles.

The successful candidates will gain exposure to a diverse client portfolio while providing accounting, taxation, financial reporting, and advisory services within dynamic professional practice environments.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparing annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
• Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Processing and reviewing accounting records for a portfolio of clients
• Preparing and submitting VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, and other statutory returns
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger reviews
• Liaising with clients and providing ongoing accounting support and advice
• Assisting with audits and responding to audit queries where required
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting, tax, and statutory regulations
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships through professional service delivery

Desired Experience & Qualification

• BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification
• Completed SAIPA articles, or currently in the final stages of completing articles
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Working knowledge of South African taxation legislation
• Experience with accounting software such as CaseWare, Xero, Sage, Pastel, or similar will be advantageous
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently as well as within a team
