Finance Lead

Introduction

An established international finance and digital asset services firm is seeking a Finance Lead to join their Cape Town team, serving as the high-impact technical accounting anchor during a pivotal stage of growth.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and Operations, you will take ownership of complex technical accounting queries, oversee hands-on digital asset and foundation accounting, and provide guidance to the broader team while navigating evolving accounting standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end technical accounting for digital assets, Web3 protocols, and cryptocurrency foundations.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for complex, non-standard accounting queries and incomplete financial data.
• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies suited to digital assets and decentralized structures.
• Execute financial processes and balance management using specialized digital asset management and tracking tools.
• Guide and support junior finance team members through complex technical accounting scenarios and operational workflows.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• CA(SA) qualification with 3–5 years of post-articles experience, or CIMA / SAIPA qualification with 2+ years of hands-on digital asset experience.
• Proven track record in crypto, Web3, or digital asset accounting workflows and foundation structures.
• Demonstrated experience handling complex technical accounting issues in environments with incomplete information.
• Hands-on experience using digital asset accounting software (such as Bitwave or Cryptoworth) and tracking platforms.

Package & Remuneration

• R1,100,000 – R1,400,000 CTC per year.
