Compliance Analyst

Introduction

A dynamic and growing Tyger Valley-based legal company requires the services of a Compliance Analyst.

The Compliance Analyst will be responsible for client onboarding checks including verifying client entity identities, sending and supporting Legl engage requests, conducting ID reviews, sanction, PEP and adverse media screening, conflict checks, preparing AML reports, and managing client data on the firm’s systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Undertaking conflicts checks with a high degree of accuracy and escalating issues as necessary to the Head of Risk & Compliance
• Assessing the identity requirements for clients
• Liaising with internal and external clients on client due diligence issues
• Legl on-boarding application:
• Sending engage requests to clients, directors and beneficial owners
• Supporting the clients with issues in providing identity documents
• Running company searches, sanction screening, PEPs and adverse media searches
• Dealing with escalation of false positive results from sanction, adverse media and PEP searches
• Preparation of client due diligence reports for fee earners
• Liaising with the Head of Risk and Compliance for the completion of third-party vendor questionnaires
• Assisting members of the Risk & Compliance team with research projects and day-to-day compliance

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric plus relevant qualification/s
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in AML within a UK law firm
• Experience working in a professional or financial services environment
• Proven track record in end-to-end onboarding of various entity types (individuals, corporates, trustees, and regulated entities)
• Strong knowledge of UK Money Laundering Regulations
• Understanding of conflicts of interest
• Familiarity with AML systems (desirable)
• Experience in analysing and unravelling corporate structures
• Skilled in analysis, research, and informed decision-making
• Process-driven with the ability to escalate issues appropriately

Working hours: 09:00 - 18:00 / 10:00 - 19:00 Monday to Friday
