Compliance Officer – BGC Group

We are seeking a Compliance Officer to support our Johannesburg office and ensure adherence to local regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day compliance advisory support to the Johannesburg business.
• Ensure compliance with JSE / JSA rules, relevant FSCA regulations, and applicable market conduct requirements.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations.
• Review and implement compliance policies, procedures and controls in line with global and local standards.
• Conduct surveillance, monitoring and testing to identify potential compliance risks.
• Support regulatory reporting, audits, and regulatory enquiries.
• Deliver compliance training and guidance to front-office and support staff.
• Liaise with regulators, internal stakeholders and global compliance teams as required.

Key Requirements

• Experience in a compliance role within financial services, ideally in a brokerage, trading or capital markets environment.
• Working knowledge of JSE / JSA rules is essential.
• Familiarity with FSCA regulatory frameworks and South African market conduct requirements.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
• Relevant compliance, legal or risk qualification preferred (e.g. LLB, compliance certification).
