Oasis Group Holdings is seeking a commercially minded Admitted Attorney with extensive Labour Law expertise to join our dynamic Legal team in Cape Town. Duties & Responsibilities

As our Labour Lawyer, you will provide strategic legal guidance on all employment and labour law matters while supporting the business in maintaining best practice and legislative compliance.

Your responsibilities will include

• Providing expert legal advice to executives, management and HR on all labour law matters
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating employment contracts, consultancy agreements, policies and HR documentation
• Developing, implementing and maintaining labour-related policies across South Africa, the UK and Mauritius
• Advising on disciplinary processes, workplace investigations, misconduct matters and employee relations
• Drafting charge sheets and providing recommendations on disciplinary outcomes
• Managing labour disputes, negotiations, mediations, arbitrations and litigation
• Representing the company at the CCMA, Bargaining Councils, Labour Court and other dispute resolution forums
• Advising on dismissals, retrenchments, performance management and workplace conflict
• Conducting labour law and employee relations training for management and employees
• Supporting HR with policy interpretation and legislative compliance
• Monitoring changes in labour legislation and case law and advising on business impact
• Conducting compliance audits across multiple jurisdictions
• Assisting with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
• Partnering with business leaders to proactively manage legal risk and promote positive employee relations

What We're Looking For?

Qualifications

• LLB Degree from a recognised university
• Postgraduate qualification in Labour Law
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
• A Master's Degree in Labour Law, Labour Economics or a related field will be advantageous

Experience

• Minimum 5 years' post-admission Labour Law experience
• Previous experience within a reputable Labour Law practice or corporate legal environment
• Extensive experience with CCMA proceedings, Labour Court litigation and dispute resolution
• Strong knowledge of:
• Labour Relations Act (LRA)
• Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA)
• Employment Equity Act
• Skills Development Act
• Experience advising senior management on complex labour matters
• Exposure to UK and Mauritius employment legislation would be advantageous
• Financial services experience is beneficial but not essential
