Pre-Sales Engineer

Technical Sales Support Partner with the Sales team to provide technical consultation during customer engagements. Assist with customer meetings, presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions. Validate customer requirements and recommend appropriate solutions. Prepare technical proposals, bills of materials (BOMs), and solution recommendations. Support channel partners throughout the sales cycle.

Solution Design & Engineering Design wired and wireless network infrastructure solutions. Design CCTV and surveillance system layouts. Recommend switching, routing, wireless, fibre, and surveillance solutions based on customer requirements. Produce logical network diagrams and solution documentation. Ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, scalable, and commercially viable.

Customer Technical Support Provide Level 2 technical support to distributors, resellers, installers, and end-users. Troubleshoot networking and surveillance-related issues remotely and on-site. Assist customers during product deployment and implementation. Investigate technical faults and recommend corrective actions. Escalate complex issues where required.

Training & Technical Enablement Deliver technical training sessions to distributors, resellers, installers, and customers. Conduct product demonstrations and technical workshops. Develop technical knowledge within the sales team. Promote best practices for installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Stay up to date with new networking and surveillance technologies.

Internal Technical Support Provide technical support to internal staff. Configure new laptops, desktops, and user environments. Maintain internal networking infrastructure. Support company servers, switches, wireless infrastructure, and user connectivity. Assist with software installation and user support.

Product & Technical Knowledge Maintain expert knowledge across product ranges including: Business Networking SDN Solutions Surveillance Systems ISP Solutions Smart Home Solutions Enterprise Switching Wireless Networking Routing Fibre Networking CCTV Systems Network Security Fundamentals Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Sales, Technical Support, Product Management, and Marketing teams.

Provide technical feedback to Product Managers. Assist with proof-of-concept installations and demonstrations. Support exhibitions, customer events, and technical roadshows.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Electronic Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Pre-Sales, Network Engineer, or Technical Support role.
• Strong networking knowledge including: TCP/IP, VLANs, Routing, Switching, Wireless Networking, Fibre Networking.
• Experience designing network infrastructure solutions.
• Experience configuring enterprise networking equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Western Cape when required.
