Pre-Sales Consultant: Data Protection & Cyber Resilience

About the Role

First Technology Western Cape (FTWC), an Elite Rubrik partner and leading technology reseller, is looking for a Pre-Sales Consultant to join our Solutions team. You'll work across our data protection and cyber resilience portfolio — designing, positioning, and presenting solutions that help clients protect, recover, and secure their data in an increasingly hostile threat landscape.

This is a client-facing technical role at the intersection of engineering credibility and commercial storytelling. You'll partner closely with sales, vendors, and distribution to shape deals from first conversation through to signed SoW, working closely with colleagues across the First Technology Group and clients nationally.

What You'll Do

• Scope, design, and cost data protection and backup/recovery solutions for clients across sectors
• Build and deliver technical presentations, demos, and proof-of-concepts
• Respond to RFPs/RFQs with technically sound, commercially competitive proposals
• Translate complex technical capability into business value for both technical and executive audiences
• Work hand-in-hand with vendor and distribution partners on solution design and pricing
• Collaborate with colleagues across the wider First Technology Group and support enablement across the sales team

What We're Looking For

• Solid grounding in data protection, backup, and disaster recovery concepts (snapshots, replication, RPO/RTO, immutability, air-gapping)
• Ability to hold a credible technical conversation with IT managers, architects, and C-suite alike
• Strong proposal, quoting, and documentation skills
• Comfortable working across multiple vendor ecosystems in a fast-paced pre-sales environment
• A collaborative, detail-oriented approach — our clients expect precision, not approximation
• Willingness to work across South Africa as needed

Nice to Have

• Existing Rubrik product knowledge or certification (Rubrik Sales Professional / Rubrik Technical Certifications) — candidates with a Rubrik background will be at a distinct advantage, given our Elite Partner status and depth of Rubrik-based deal flow
• Experience responding to formal tenders/RFPs in a reseller or MSP environment
