Senior FP&A Analyst

Overview

Do you combine sharp financial analysis with the commercial insight to influence business decisions? We are seeking an experienced Senior FP&A Analyst to provide financial planning, forecasting, reporting and business partnering support within a dynamic environment.

Collaborating across the business and engaging directly with key decision-makers, you will deliver meaningful performance insights, challenge thinking and identify opportunities to improve profitability, cash generation and overall business performance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support annual business planning, monthly forecasting, and performance reporting processes.
• Analyze financial and operational performance to identify key trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.
• Deliver accurate and insightful reporting and variance analysis to support business decision-making and performance management.
• Partner with business stakeholders to improve profitability, margin delivery, cost management, working capital efficiency, and cash generation.
• Evaluate commercial initiatives, strategic opportunities, investments, and projects through financial analysis, modeling, and business case review.
• Conduct post-investment reviews (PIRs) and project lookbacks to assess performance against objectives and identify lessons learned.
• Perform root cause analysis on performance variances and support the development of corrective actions.
• Analyze customer, product, channel, terminal, and value chain profitability to identify value creation opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning, forecasting, reporting, data governance, and business performance management processes.
• Provide ad hoc analysis and decision support aligned with business priorities and leadership requirements.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Commerce, Accounting, or Business Administration.
• CA (SA) or CIMA qualification is required.
• Financial modeling and/or data analysis certification is advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial or management reporting role.
• Experience in the oil & gas, agriculture, mining, supply chain, manufacturing, or FMCG industries is highly advantageous.
• Exposure to cross-functional environments and business partnering is preferred.

Skills and Attributes

• Strong financial and analytical skills with commercial acumen.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; knowledge of SAP, SAC, and PowerBI is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including business writing and presentations.
• Strong understanding of commercial business performance and value drivers.
• Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality, insightful analysis and recommendations.
• Ability to work with large data sets and complex variables.
• Flexible, resilient, and adaptable in a dynamic business environment.
• Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to build trusted partnerships across functions.
