Key Responsibilities

• Lead pre- and post-contract quantity surveying activities, including cost estimation, tendering, and valuation.
• Prepare and analyze Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost reports, and financial statements for steel structure projects.
• Negotiate and finalize subcontractor agreements, ensuring terms align with project budgets and timelines.
• Monitor project expenditures, track variations, and provide cost-control recommendations to stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits to verify progress, measure work completed, and resolve contractual disputes.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure accurate cost forecasting and risk mitigation.
• Prepare and submit progress claims, final accounts, and financial close-out documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., RICS, BQSM) is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with at least 2 years in a senior role handling steel structure projects.
• Proven expertise in pre- and post-contract management, including tendering, procurement, and final accounts.
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor management, contract administration (e.g., PWD, JKR, FIDIC), and dispute resolution.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., Candy, Win
• QS) and Microsoft Excel for financial modeling.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with Malaysian construction regulations and industry best practices.
