Senior Accounting Executive (AP & AR)

About the role

Letromec Industries (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Executive (AP & AR) to join our Finance team in Bayan Lepas, Penang. This is a full-time position offering a unique opportunity to take on a strategic role within our financial accounting and reporting operations.

As Senior Accounting Executive (AP & AR), you will be responsible for overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance with accounting standards.

This position is fundamental to maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation and directly supports our broader business objectives by optimising cash flow management and maintaining strong vendor and customer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet).
• General Ledger (GL) Management: Oversee and maintain the integrity of the General Ledger, ensuring accurate coding and reconciliation.
• Month-End/Year-End Closing: Lead and execute the procedures for timely and accurate closing of accounting periods.
• Statutory Compliance: Ensure all company financial records comply with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Tax Preparation: Assist in the calculation and timely submission of corporate tax returns and deferred tax calculations.
• Audit Liaison: Coordinate and prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
• Accounts Payable (AP) & Receivable (AR) Oversight: Supervise the processing of vendor invoices, employee claims, and the collection of customer payments.
• Bank Reconciliation: Perform complex bank and intercompany reconciliations.
• Supervision: Mentor and train junior accounting staff (e.g., Accounts Assistants or Executives).
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and internal controls to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Handle Multiple Entities: Assist in managing and consolidating the accounts, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting for multiple related business entities.

What we're looking for

• A professional qualification in accounting or finance (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ACA or equivalent recognised qualification)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions within a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices and Malaysian accounting standards
• Proficiency with accounting software is highly desirable
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail with strong analytical capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, vendors and customers
• Knowledge of credit control, cash flow management and working capital optimisation
• Familiarity with audit procedures and the ability to support internal and external audit activities

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
