Operates Computer Aided Design (CAD) computer system, including creating, updating and modifying engineering drawings, and Microsoft Office products.

Organizational Relationships

• Reports to: Principal Engineer, however, may receive direction from Senior Sign Designer and other CAD Technicians.
• Directs: Works closely with building regulating agencies, sign companies, and sign installers.

Essential Duties

• Creates CAD drawings for sign engineering projects.
• Copies project drawings.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of AutoCAD and manual drafting principles, practices, methods and techniques, Microsoft Office Suite
• Skill/Ability to demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication; read and interpret construction drawings; operate computer using standard drafting software packages, plotters; develop CAD and manual drawings for engineering projects; maintain complete, readily accessible files and records of survey office reports; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and outside sign vendors.

Acceptable Experience & Training

• Associate’s degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field. No certificates or licenses required.
