The Role

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Payments Technology in Canada and globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Write clean, maintainable, and well documented code under guidance.

Help document software features and perform reviews with team membersParticipate in code reviews, unit testing, and debugging.

Learn and adapt to our CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment practicesFollow guidance from senior team members and leadsUnderstand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You'll Bring

• Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Java, JavaScript, Python
• Basic understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with RESTful APIsUnderstanding of CI/CD and version control (Git)
• Interest in cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.
