Position Overview

The Director of Operations is the senior operational executive responsible for the overall performance of all 17 branch locations. Reporting directly to the Owner, this leader provides strategic direction, operational oversight, and accountability across the East (8 branches), Central (4 branches), and Mid-West (5 branches) Regions through three direct-report Area Managers.

This position is based full-time at the Corporate Headquarters in Wadsworth, Ohio. Relocation to Northeast Ohio is required if not currently local, and a comprehensive relocation package is available for qualified candidates.

Because of the specialized nature of our business, extensive executive leadership experience in the residential and commercial plumbing service industry is a mandatory requirement. Candidates without a proven history of leading large, multi-location plumbing service operations will not be considered. Ability to travel up to 50% to all locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead operational performance across 17 branch locations generating approximately $90 million in annual revenue.
• Directly coach, develop, and hold accountable three Area Managers.
• Drive revenue growth, EBITA, technician staffing, productivity, customer satisfaction, safety, and operational consistency.
• Develop General Managers and succession plans while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Marketing, Fleet, IT, and Restoration leadership to execute strategic initiatives.
• Review operational and financial KPIs, implement corrective actions, and support acquisitions and expansion.
• Travel regularly to branch locations to ensure consistent execution and leadership development.

Required Industry Experience (Mandatory)

• Executive leadership experience in the residential and commercial plumbing service industry is REQUIRED.
• Demonstrated success leading a large, multi-location plumbing service organization with full P&L responsibility.
• Deep knowledge of plumbing service, drain cleaning, sewer, excavation, water restoration, dispatch, customer service, and field operations.
• Experience leading organizations with hundreds of employees across multiple branch locations.
• Applicants without significant executive plumbing service leadership experience will not be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive executive operations leadership.
• Strong financial and P&L management experience.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and change management skills.
• Willingness to relocate to Northeast Ohio and work from the Corporate Headquarters in Wadsworth, Ohio.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
