Family Law Paralegal (Part-Time to Full-Time) — Reno, NV

A growing family law firm with offices in Nevada and California is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our Reno office.

This position will begin as a part-time role during a 60-day probationary period to ensure a strong mutual fit. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, the position is expected to transition into a full-time, salaried rolewith benefits.

About the Role

You'll work directly with our attorneys on a busy Nevada family law caseload, including divorce, custody, child support, and related matters. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of managing cases with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Draft motions, complaints, answers, stipulations, and other family law pleadings
• Prepare and file documents through Nevada's E-Flex system, including filings in rural courts
• Manage discovery, including NRCP 16.2 disclosures, written discovery, and trial preparation
• Calendar hearings, deadlines, and other case milestones while ensuring compliance with the Nevada Rules of Civil Procedure
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff
• Maintain organized case files and assist attorneys in moving cases efficiently from start to finish

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a paralegal in a Nevada family law practice
• Strong working knowledge of the Nevada Rules of Civil Procedure, particularly NRCP 16.2
• Experience with Nevada E-Flex and familiarity with rural court filing procedures
• Excellent written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines
• Professional, compassionate, and discreet when working with clients facing sensitive legal matters
