Litigation Paralegal

JOB INFORMATION

We are seeking a Litigation Paralegal to become a part of a great team!

Responsibilities

• Conduct research to support legal proceedings
• Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents
• Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes
• Schedule depositions / deposition summaries
• Medical summaries
• Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
• Record and store client information
• Keep accurate time (billing) records
• Assist in secretarial needs as dictated by work loads and client demand
• Other duties as required or determined by a supervisor as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a paralegal (Workers Comp and Casualty experience a plus)
• Familiarity with legal research (Lexis)
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Familiarity with Coyote a plus
• Must be able to work autonomously

Working Hours: Monday thru Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (One hour meal break; over time as required.)

Legal Secretary/Assistant

We have an immediate opening for a Legal Secretary/Assistant with strong litigation experience to assist a partner and associate attorney. Maritime experience a plus. This position includes dictation, scanning and organizing documents, court filings/e-filing, maintaining client files, opening new matters, calendaring deadlines, scheduling depositions and meetings.

Candidate must be detail oriented and possess superior organizational and computer skills. Typing speed of 75 wpm or higher. Proficiency in Coyote is a plus. Experience with Texas litigation also a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also necessary. Candidate should be dependable, professional and a team player.
