Performance Reporting and Analytics

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Performance Reporting and Analytics Team is primarily responsible for the calculation and presentation of data supporting marketing materials, fundraising materials, client special reporting requests, internal analytical performance reporting for each respective business’ funds and modelling liquidity needs for the Funds. The group liaises with the investor relations teams, investment team and senior executives.

The role focuses on financial information, investment strategy attribution, performance measurement related data, and providing enhanced analytics to both external clients and internally to the investment team and other key stakeholders.

The role will be focus on working with large data sets, modelling database structures, developing tools, automation and process optimization to facilitate the accurate and timely production of critical reporting to meet external client and internal executive reporting mandates.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Analytics

• Deep understanding of the best practices around structuring dimension and fact tables adhering to a star schema model.
• Proficient in SQL, Python, Alteryx and other development languages to facilitate curating strategic data sets and views for investment dashboard creation.
• Lead efforts around data governance to allow business stakeholders to leverage the data sets while monitoring ACU usage
• Technical lead on data quality control process design, execution, documentation and monitoring
• Assist in the tech stack architecture around optimal data flow, data quality control, and optimization within cloud-based infrastructure.
• Initialize data processes involving strategy tagging, security master meta data, position level attributes in partnership with Fund Accounting, Investment Operations, Middle Office, Portfolio Management teams, etc.
• Leverage cloud based database management solutions such as Snowflake and Sigma.

Performance Analytics and Reporting

• Leveraging deep understanding of the data to calculate critical analysis such as Performance Attribution, Return Forecasting, Liquidity Analysis, Hedging Efficacy.
• Assist in preparation of monthly materials for C-suite to review Fund performance as well as other Fund Management related topics
• Assist in creation of investment and operational dashboards to help scale and automate recurring analytics
• Act as subject matter expert in proper calculation methodology to ensure accuracy and consistency in calculation standard for both internal and external reporting
• Assist in analytics related to investor level data as well as marketing efforts.
• Leverage technology platforms including PowerBi, Sigma, Arcesium to create reporting platforms

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES

• Advanced knowledge of Excel and Power Point; financial model preferred and VBA/Macro/SQL/Alteryx experience a plus
• Understanding of and ability to calculate and interpret various private equity and hedge fund quantitative metrics
• Strong knowledge of various investment products, financing/leverage and complex fund structures
• Ability to think outside the box, see the bigger picture and drive transformation
• Self-starter, entrepreneurial, and results oriented
• Ability to work closely and collaboratively across various teams and interact closely with senior management;
• Strong analytical skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and passion for excellence
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and handle multiple projects

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics or equivalent
• +7 years of experience
