Federal Contract Specialist / Federal Procurement Analyst — DoD Acquisition

We are recruiting for two separate full-time positions

• Federal Contract Specialist
• Federal Procurement Analyst

Candidates may be considered for either position based on their qualifications, experience, and the needs of the contract.

The selected professionals will provide acquisition, procurement-policy, and contract-administration support to a Department of Defense contracting office in New Orleans, Louisiana.

These are full-time, on-site positions anticipated to begin September 29, 2026. Employment is contingent upon government contract award.

Responsibilities

• Research federal procurement laws, regulations, policies, directives, and acquisition procedures.
• Review contracting actions and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Assist with acquisition planning, market research, solicitation support, contract administration, and procurement reporting.
• Prepare, track, monitor, and analyze contract and procurement data.
• Maintain action-item and suspense lists and monitor procurement deadlines.
• Assist with the coordination of funding, acceptance, payment, and other contract-administration activities.
• Prepare reports, correspondence, presentations, spreadsheets, and acquisition documentation.
• Provide technical advice, staff coordination, and recommendations to contracting personnel and management.
• Communicate procurement procedures and policy changes to customers, coworkers, management, and stakeholders.
• Assist with developing or updating contracting policies, procedures, templates, and guidance materials.
• Perform work in accordance with FAR, DFARS, NMCARS, applicable DoD guidance, and local contracting-office procedures.

These positions provide acquisition support only and will not exercise Contracting Officer authority or perform inherently governmental functions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Law, Contracts, Purchasing, Economics, Industrial Management, Marketing, Quantitative Methods, Organization, or a related field.
• At least five years of direct federal procurement experience in a GS-1102 series position or an equivalent federal contracting capacity.
• Knowledge of Department of Defense procurement policy, acquisition management, regulations, laws, policies, and directives.
• Experience researching, analyzing, and resolving complex procurement or contracting issues.
• Ability to develop recommended action plans and provide sound technical guidance.
• Experience preparing, tracking, monitoring, and analyzing contract data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate and complete multiple assignments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to work full-time on-site in New Orleans.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.

The underlying requirements call for at least five years of direct federal procurement experience in a GS-1102 or equivalent capacity, along with knowledge of DoD procurement policy and acquisition management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, or Marine Corps contracting experience.
• FAC-C, DAWIA Contracting, or comparable federal acquisition certification.
• Experience with FAR, DFARS, NMCARS, and Marine Corps acquisition procedures.
• Experience conducting procurement-policy reviews, compliance reviews, or contract-file reviews.
• Current or previously held federal security clearance.
• Experience using federal procurement or contract-writing systems.
• Experience supporting a federal contracting office as a government employee or contractor.

Work Schedule and Location

• Full-time, on-site positions.
• Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
• New Orleans, Louisiana.
• Anticipated start date: September 29, 2026.

Work will be performed at the Marine Corps Support Facility in New Orleans during normal government operating hours.

Compensation

Anticipated base salary: $95,000–$120,000 per year, depending on the position, federal acquisition experience, DoD experience, certifications, procurement-system expertise, and clearance status.

Security and Access Requirements

Selected candidates must be able to satisfy federal background-screening, military-installation access, Common Access Card, mandatory security-training, and government-system access requirements.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. An active Secret clearance is preferred but is not required at the time of application.
