About the Firm

A highly regarded Chambers UK and Legal 500 ranked law firm is looking to recruit a Corporate Legal Assistant to join its successful Corporate & Commercial team in Reading. Working alongside experienced Partners and Solicitors, you'll support a wide range of high-quality corporate transactions for businesses ranging from SMEs to large national and international organisations.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive legal professional looking to develop their career within corporate law.

Key responsibilities include

• Supporting fee earners on mergers and acquisitions, company restructures and corporate transactions
• Preparing and amending legal documentation and transaction bibles
• Assisting with due diligence exercises and managing virtual data rooms
• Preparing Companies House forms and company secretarial documentation
• Drafting board minutes, shareholder resolutions and completion documents
• Liaising with clients, accountants, banks and other professional advisers
• Opening and closing files, completing AML and compliance checks
• Maintaining case management and document management systems
• General administrative and diary support to the Corporate team

About You

The successful candidate will have

• Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary or Paralegal, ideally within Corporate or Commercial law
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication and client care skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
• A proactive, flexible and team-focused approach
