Structural Engineer

GNF Commercial Management Limited is hiring experienced Structural Engineers to support civil, residential, and commercial construction projects across Halifax and the surrounding region.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, analysis, documentation, and coordination of safe, efficient, and code-compliant structures. You will work closely with architects, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to support projects from early design through construction.

Responsibilities

• Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and related tools for structural design, drafting, and analysis
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders
• Support structural engineering projects from concept through completion
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards
• Conduct structural assessments and provide engineering recommendations
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications
• Support construction teams with design clarification and project documentation

Requirements

• Experience in structural engineering design and project coordination
• Proficiency with CAD and design software, including AutoCAD and Revit
• Experience with MicroStation, Mathcad, Civil 3D, or Bluebeam is an asset
• Familiarity with Nova Scotia building codes, regulations, and construction standards is an asset
• Ability to work on-site regularly in Halifax
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Organized, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team
