The Engineering Data Acquisition and Analytics section is part of Caterpillar's Advanced Power Technologies (APT) organization within the Integrated Power Systems Division (IPSD). Our team enables engineers across Caterpillar to efficiently acquire, manage, and utilize machine and engine data to support product development, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts.
The section includes the SuperComm Command Center team, responsible for engineering data acquisition and infrastructure; the Engineering Intelligence team, which develops custom analytics solutions for engineering customers; and the Machine Data Insights (MDI) team, which delivers scalable analytics, reporting, and data-driven insights that help engineering teams maximize the value of machine data.
This position is for an Embedded Product Analytics Senior Engineer on the SuperComm Command Center team. The team is responsible for the cloud infrastructure, applications, databases, and data pipelines that enable the collection, processing, storage, and delivery of engineering data from thousands of machines and engines operating around the world.
The systems developed and maintained by this team are critical to engineering and analytics organizations throughout Caterpillar.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership while helping modernize and expand the SuperComm ecosystem through the development of cloud-native applications, data services, APIs, and engineering data solutions.
Degree Requirement
Bachelor's degree in accredited Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical curriculum plus at least 5 years of experience, or an advanced degree plus at least 4 years of experience.
Technical Analysis: Knowledge of the concepts, methodologies, and activities in technical analysis; ability to forecast the direction of technical landscape using technical indicators and take collective actions.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
