About The Role

FTI Consulting Australia Forensic & Litigation Consulting brings together experts from a range of disciplines to solve complex problems for our clients facing legal or regulatory threats, or involved in sale-of-business transactions.

Often working on large high-profile domestic and international engagements, we provide financial expertise to complex litigation and arbitration matters, conduct contentious and non-contentions business valuations, investigate financial dealings and build frameworks for our clients to minimise financial risks.

What You’ll DoAs a Graduate, working on client matters under the supervision of senior members of the team, your projects will include the quantification of financial losses suffered by businesses, investigating financial matters, and valuing shares, businesses, financial instruments and intangible assets.

Your responsibilities will involve

• Quantifying loss and damage in commercial disputes, including reviewing business records, performing financial analysis, and creating financial models
• Executing a wide range of valuation engagements, including company and industry analysis, reviewing accounting data and performing financial and comparable company analysis
• Undertaking investigations, including fraud, misconduct and regulatory compliance engagements, by analysing a range of financial and non-financial sources, and documenting the processes undertaking and findings made
• Working with large data sets, including utilising data analytical tools
• Supporting day-to-day engagement execution, including interaction with clients, financiers, auditors, tax advisors and legal advisors
• Assisting with the preparation of reports and presentations
• Contributing to company initiatives and team development activities

• Support in undertaking an appropriate accounting qualification such as CA/CFALearn from senior management in the team and work on large multi-jurisdictional engagements around the world
• Exposure to our wide-ranging client base, including lawyers, corporates, government regulators, and banks.
• Strong knowledge of the legal process, especially regarding litigation, fraud and compliance issues.

• What You’ll Need To Succeed
• Bachelor/Master’s degree majoring in Accounting and/or Finance
• Curiousity, an inquisitive mindset and a passion for solving problems, even when faced with limited information, uncertainty and ambiguity
• Soft skills, such as empathy and respect: the ability to understand and recognise clients’ needs and work well with our people
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex financial information
• Ability to work in a team and autonomously
• This role will require travel to client and FTI offices
• Unrestricted working rights in Australia

Compensation

Annual Pay: $77,000.00Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role and is inclusive of Superannuation. Determination of actual salary is based on a combination of relevant factors such as market considerations, business needs, and an individual’s location, skills, level of experience and qualifications.
