A major international law firm is looking for an accomplished Marketing & Business Development Manager to lead its global Technology sector strategy.

This is a high-profile opportunity to work alongside the Global Sector Head, senior leadership and leading technology lawyers across an extensive international platform. You’ll shape the sector’s market position, turn commercial insight into new business opportunities and deliver campaigns that deepen relationships with some of the world’s most innovative companies.

You’ll have the reach of a global role, the influence to shape strategy and the autonomy to make things happen.

As the firm’s M&BD lead for the Technology sector, you will :

Develop and execute a global sector strategy aligned with the firm’s commercial priorities.

Advise sector leadership and partners on market positioning, growth opportunities and client development.

Connect initiatives across practices, regions and client teams to create a genuinely coordinated global approach.

Lead the sector’s pitch strategy and oversee high-value RFPs, proposals and credentials.

Build targeted campaigns that translate sector insight into meaningful client engagement.

Develop thought leadership, digital content and profile-raising programmes.

Partner with PR colleagues to strengthen the visibility of the sector and its leading lawyers.

Deliver client seminars, webinars, conferences, CLE programmes and other strategic events.

Evaluate sponsorship opportunities and ensure the firm achieves a strong return on its investment.

Support key client programmes, financial performance reviews and client-feedback initiatives.

Lead directory, award and legal-ranking submissions.

Maintain the sector’s core marketing resources, credentials and knowledge.

Manage and develop a global team, creating a high-performing and collaborative culture.

Contribute to wider firmwide M&BD initiatives and share best practices internationally.

You understand that outstanding business development is about more than producing excellent materials. It requires commercial instinct, intellectual curiosity and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.

You’ll bring

At least seven years of relevant marketing and business development experience, ideally within a law firm or other professional-services environment.
Strong strategic and commercial judgement, with a record of identifying and converting opportunities.
Experience developing pitches, campaigns, client programmes and profile-raising initiatives.
The presence and credibility to become a trusted adviser to partners and senior leadership.
A proactive approach and the ability to connect opportunities across teams, markets and jurisdictions.
Excellent writing, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to deliver competing priorities under pressure.
A pragmatic, diplomatic style and the judgement to navigate different personalities effectively.
Demonstrable people-management, coaching or team-leadership capability.
A bachelor’s degree; a marketing, communications or related discipline is preferred.

Knowledge of the Technology sector would be valuable, although curiosity, commercial intelligence and the ability to develop genuine sector expertise are equally important. A postgraduate qualification such as an MBA would be advantageous.

The expected annual base salary ranges

San Francisco: $153,000–$224,000

Silicon Valley: $154,000–$226,000

Washington, D.C.: $136,000–$199,000

New York: $145,000–$213,000

The final base salary will reflect factors such as the successful candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and location.
