Automation Software Engineer

What You Will Do

• For UsDesign, develop, test, and maintain manufacturing and automation software applications using C# and .NET (.NET Framework and .NET Core).
• Build backend services, APIs, and integrations connecting shopfloor systems (PLCs, SCADA, Batch) with enterprise applications and databases.
• Develop operator and engineering interfaces using Vue.js and the Ignition platform.
• Work with Microsoft SQL Server databases, writing efficient queries, and designing data models.
• Implement data access using Entity Framework and Dapper.
• Integrate applications with industrial devices and external vendor systems.
• Support and enhance manufacturing platforms including Factory
• Talk Batch, SCADA, HMI, and PLC data collection systems.
• Participate in digital manufacturing and “Plant of the Future” initiatives.
• Manage source control and CI/CD workflows using GitLab.
• Apply DevOps and containerization practices; support deployments in modern environments (including Kubernetes where applicable).
• Troubleshoot performance issues, bottlenecks, and system faults in production environments.
• Ensure robust validation, testing, and documentation of automation software solutions.

• Previous Work Experience &

Skills

• Experience developing applications in C# using .NET Framework and/or .NET Core/.NET.Strong SQL skills and experience with Microsoft SQL Server (querying, schema design, performance).
• Experience with Entity Framework and/or Dapper ORM/data access.
• Experience developing web or UI applications using Vue.js (or similar frameworks).
• Experience with Git-based source control (GitLab or similar).
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design and software architecture.
• Experience integrating software with external systems, APIs, or industrial devices.
• Experience with industrial manufacturing software for example Batch, SCADA, HMI PLCs or similar an advantage
• Experience with the Ignition industrial platform is an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience of delivering projects in a complex systems environment
• Ability to work independently in a manufacturing or production-critical environment.
