Performance & Variance Manager (Supply Chain)

The Role

We're looking for a Performance & Variance Manager to help make our supply chain perform at its very best.

This is a highly analytical, improvement-focused role, responsible for understanding where operational performance falls short of expectations and driving measurable improvements.

You'll own key performance metrics including OTIF (On Time In Full), identify and reduce product and operational cost variance, coordinate supplier performance reviews, and ensure new products deliver against their business case once launched.

Working closely with colleagues across Sourcing, Supply Chain, Technical and Finance, you'll turn data into action, creating the reporting, routines and performance disciplines that help our operation become more reliable, more efficient and more cost effective over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the company's OTIF performance framework, establishing clear definitions, reporting and performance targets.
• Monitor and improve OTIF performance across suppliers and the wider supply chain, working collaboratively with internal teams and suppliers to drive continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain robust reporting that makes performance visible across the business and supports informed decision-making.
• Develop and manage a clear framework for tracking product and operational cost variance, working closely with Finance and operational teams.
• Identify the biggest drivers of variance and lead improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency and protect margin.
• Measure and report the financial impact of improvement activity.
• Establish and coordinate supplier performance scorecards, review meetings and action tracking across key supplier relationships.
• Ensure supplier performance issues are addressed collaboratively across Sourcing, Supply Chain and Technical teams.
• Support successful new product launches by embedding supplier performance measures into the onboarding process.
• Monitor new product performance during the first three to six months after launch, identifying issues early and feeding learnings back into future supplier selection and onboarding.
• Skills & Experience
• We're looking for someone who combines strong analytical capability with a practical, hands-on approach to continuous improvement.
• You'll ideally have:
• Experience in supply chain, operations, procurement, performance improvement or a similar analytical role.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to turn insight into action.
• Experience monitoring KPIs and driving measurable operational improvements.
• Confidence working across multiple teams to influence outcomes and coordinate improvement activity.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with operational or supply chain data.
• Experience within food, FMCG, manufacturing or logistics would be advantageous but isn't essential.
