Senior Information Technology Project Manager

IT Project Manager | Lausanne / Fribourg (Hybrid)An established software company whose products are trusted inside banks and insurers across Europe is hiring a Senior IT Project Manager to own delivery end to end.

This is not an internal IT role and it is not project coordination. It is vendor-side delivery ownership: taking complex software from kickoff through to production inside regulated client environments, owning the plan, the client relationship, and the outcome. When something goes sideways, and in regulated delivery it does, this is the person the client trusts to bring it back on track.

The role exists because their software goes live inside banking and insurance environments where the margin for error is close to zero, and where delivery has to be owned by someone who can walk into a client, hold the technical and commercial conversation, and see the project through to go-live rather than simply administer a plan built by others.

What you will be doing

• Owning the full lifecycle of software implementation projects into banking and insurance clients, from scoping and planning through integration, testing, and go-live
• Acting as the trusted delivery lead the client deals with directly, managing scope, expectations, and the difficult conversations that come with regulated delivery
• Driving timeline, budget, risk, and dependencies across internal engineering teams and client-side stakeholders
• Delivering within the change-management constraints and control standards these regulated environments demand
• Feeding what you learn on the ground back into the way projects are scoped and delivered
• What they are looking for
• A proven track record delivering complex software into client environments on the vendor or consultancy side, not internal client-side project management
• Delivery experience in regulated industries, ideally banking or insurance, or comparable sectors where compliance and control are non-negotiable
• A genuine ownership mentality: someone who has carried accountability for delivery outcomes, not just tracked tasks and reported status
• Strong stakeholder management up to senior and C-level, with the credibility to hold a room and the judgement to manage scope
• Fluent French and professional English, both used day to day in this role
• Working knowledge of compliance or anti-financial-crime topics (AML, KYC, sanctions screening, fraud) is a meaningful plus
• Formal project management certification (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent) is an advantage
• Right to work in Switzerland required, no sponsorship available
• Full-time permanent position, hybrid working from Fribourg office, with client-site presence as delivery demands.
