Our PHP and IOP programs in West LA provide best-in-class clinical care for adolescents navigating mental health challenges and substance use, with a specialized focus on trauma, co-occurring disorders, and family systems.

We are in-network with most major California insurance providers, making our programs accessible to the families who need them most.

Position Overview

We are looking for a driven, relationship-first Business Development Manager to own and grow our local referral network and be the face of Key Healthcare's PHP/IOP programs in the West LA community.

This is a field-forward role built for someone who thrives on building genuine connections — with therapists, schools, pediatricians, educational consultants, hospital discharge teams, and community organizations — and who is passionate about connecting struggling teens and their families to life-changing care.

You will be the primary driver of community outreach, referral partner development, and program marketing strategy for our outpatient programs, working closely with admissions and clinical leadership to convert community relationships into admissions.

Referral Network Development

• Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with referral partners including therapists, psychiatrists, school counselors, pediatricians, educational consultants, hospital social workers, and community organizations throughout West LA and the greater Los Angeles area
• Conduct regular outreach visits and tours to referring providers' offices, maintaining a consistent presence across your territory
• Track and manage referral relationships in our CRM, monitoring conversion rates and follow-up cadence
• Reactivate lapsed referral relationships and identify new partnership opportunities through market research and community engagement

Program Tours & Facility Events

• Host prospective referral partners and families for tours of our West LA PHP/IOP facility, communicating the clinical model, program culture, and patient experience with warmth and credibility
• Plan and execute on-site events including lunch-and-learns, CEU trainings, provider appreciation events, and open houses designed to deepen community relationships and elevate program visibility
• Represent Key Healthcare at community events, conferences, and professional networking functions

Marketing Strategy & Execution

• Develop and own the local marketing strategy for the PHP/IOP program, identifying the highest-value channels and audiences for outreach
• Collaborate with leadership to produce outreach materials, digital content, and communications that accurately reflect our clinical programming and differentiators
• Analyze referral data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in the referral pipeline, and adjust strategy accordingly

Admissions Collaboration

• Partner closely with the Admissions team to ensure smooth handoffs from referral to intake, and maintain communication with referring providers throughout the admissions process
• Serve as a resource for referral partners navigating insurance questions, including in-network benefits and the admissions process
• Monitor admission volume and referral trends, providing regular reporting to leadership on business development activity and outcomes

Required

• 3+ years of experience in healthcare business development, marketing, or community outreach — behavioral health experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated success building and maintaining referral networks in a healthcare or behavioral health setting
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable presenting to clinical professionals and community stakeholders
• Self-directed, organized, and goal-oriented with the ability to manage a broad territory and multiple relationship tracks simultaneously
• Proficiency with CRM tools and basic reporting
• Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation for field-based outreach

Preferred

• Background in adolescent behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment
• Existing relationships with referral sources in the West LA / greater Los Angeles market
• Familiarity with California insurance landscape including in-network benefits, authorizations, and managed care
• Experience planning and executing professional events and CEU trainings

Pay: $79,295.93 - $90,000.00 per year
