Sales Manager – WMS & Warehouse AutomationAbout the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager – WMS & Warehouse Automation to drive new business growth across warehousing, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, and material handling operations.
This role is ideal for a results-driven sales professional with experience selling Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), warehouse automation, material handling solutions, industrial software, or related supply chain technologies.
You will work directly with customers to understand their operational challenges and develop solutions that improve warehouse efficiency, inventory visibility, material flow, productivity, and automation. Our solutions may incorporate WMS, automation, real-time data, analytics, and Digital Twin technologies to help customers optimize both existing and future operations.
This is a business development and solution sales role requiring someone who is comfortable prospecting for new customers, developing relationships, managing complex opportunities, and working with technical teams to move projects from initial concept through close.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute sales strategies to grow our WMS and warehouse automation business
- Identify and pursue new customers across warehousing, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, and industrial markets
- Own the full sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, discovery, solution development, proposal, negotiation, and close
- Build relationships with warehouse and distribution leaders, operations managers, engineering teams, supply chain executives, IT leaders, and senior management
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand customer workflows, material movement, inventory processes, bottlenecks, labor challenges, and automation requirements
- Position WMS, warehouse automation, Digital Twin, and related technologies based on the customer's operational needs
- Work closely with engineering and technical teams to develop appropriate solution concepts
- Deliver customer presentations, solution demonstrations, and commercial proposals
- Develop the business case and ROI for proposed solutions
- Identify opportunities involving WMS/WES, material handling systems, conveyors, AS/RS, robotics, automated storage, tracking, and other warehouse technologies
- Manage complex sales involving multiple technical, operational, and executive stakeholders
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecasts, customer activity, and opportunity documentation in CRM
- Develop strategic relationships with customers, technology partners, integrators, and other industry stakeholders
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales and business development team
- Establish sales processes, prospecting strategies, KPIs, pipeline expectations, and account-development plans
- Coach team members on consultative selling, opportunity qualification, solution positioning, and closing strategies
- Conduct pipeline and opportunity reviews and provide guidance on strategic accounts
- Develop the team’s knowledge of WMS, warehouse automation, material handling, and Digital Twin solutions
- Lead by example by personally developing and closing strategic accounts while supporting the team in achieving revenue targets
- Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, conferences, and industry events
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of B2B sales or business development experience in warehouse technology, material handling, industrial automation, supply chain technology, or a related field
- Demonstrated success developing and closing complex solution sales
- Experience selling one or more of the following:
- Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Warehouse Execution Systems (WES)
- Warehouse Control Systems (WCS)
- Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
- Conveyors and sortation systems
- AS/RS and automated storage solutions
- Robotics, AMRs, or AGVs
- Industrial automation
- Warehouse or supply chain software
- Tracking, identification, or visibility solutions
- Digital Twin or simulation technology
- Strong understanding of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing operations
- Ability to identify operational challenges and translate them into technology and automation opportunities
- Experience selling to operations, engineering, supply chain, IT, and executive-level stakeholders
- Strong prospecting and new-business-development skills
- Excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
- Ability to understand technical solutions and clearly communicate their operational and financial value
- Experience with CRM and pipeline management
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships within the warehouse, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or material handling industries
- Experience working with warehouse automation integrators, OEMs, WMS providers, or industrial technology companies
- Knowledge of warehouse processes including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, replenishment, staging, shipping, and inventory management
- Familiarity with ERP, MES, WMS, WES, WCS, PLC/automation, and industrial data systems
- Experience selling projects involving both software and automation/physical equipment
- Familiarity with Digital Twin, simulation, IoT/IIoT, AI, analytics, or Industry 4.0 technologies
