Human Resources Business Partner $160K

Our client is a global firm looking for an experienced HR Business Partner with law firm experience, to join its People Team on a 12‑month parental leave contract. This is a high‑profile advisory role partnering directly with Partners and senior leaders to drive culture, capability and organisational performance.

You’ll operate as a trusted advisor across multiple locations (Australia and Asia), shaping people strategy, guiding leaders through complex people matters, and influencing decisions that directly impact team performance and engagement. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, intellectually demanding environment and brings a blend of commercial judgement, ER expertise and strong relationship capability.

About the Role

• Coach and support Partners on leadership, culture, engagement and talent development
• Provide expert, commercially grounded advice on ER matters, employment obligations, probations, performance concerns and termination
• Manage people operations across designated business units, ensuring lifecycle activities are delivered accurately and efficiently
• Partner with senior HR leaders on remuneration reviews, talent mapping, promotion cycles and workforce planning
• Champion DEI, wellbeing, L&D and employee recognition initiatives
• Build strong, influential relationships with Partners and business leaders to support effective decision‑making
• Drive engagement and organisational effectiveness initiatives that enhance employee experience and business performance
• Contribute to strategic People projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the function

About You

• You’re a confident, proactive HR professional with strong business partnering capability and the ability to navigate complex, sensitive matters with discretion and commercial clarity.4+ years experience as an HR Business Partner in Legal and or professional services environment
• Completed a HR or relevant degree
• Strong ER knowledge and the ability to provide clear, practical and commercially aligned advice
• Credibility and confidence when partnering with senior stakeholders
• Strong judgement, resilience and the ability to influence outcomes
• A collaborative mindset and a passion for driving culture, capability and performance
• Excellent communication, relationship‑building and problem‑solving skills
